「溯源」並不是只有一種做法。批號級和序號級代表兩種不同的顆粒度——成本、資料紀律與風險承受度都不一樣。選對層級,召回時你才不會多扔掉貨,也不會少扔掉貨。"Traceability" isn't a single thing. Lot-level and serial-level are two different granularities, with different costs, data discipline, and risk tolerance. Choosing the right level is what lets you scope a recall so you neither discard too much nor too little.
兩個層級到底差在哪What actually separates the two levels
批號級溯源(lot 或 batch)是以「一批生產」為單位。同一批料、同一條線、同一段時間做出來的成品共用一個批號。當問題發生時,你能把範圍收斂到「這一批」,並把這批的進料、製程紀錄與出貨對象串起來。這是多數產業的基本盤,也是法規最常要求的最低門檻。Lot-level (or batch-level) traceability uses a single production run as its unit. Finished goods made from the same materials, on the same line, within the same window share one lot number. When something goes wrong, you can narrow the scope to "this batch" and connect its incoming materials, process records, and shipping destinations. This is the baseline for most industries and the minimum bar regulators most often ask for.
序號級溯源(serial)則是把顆粒度推到「每一件」。每個單品都有自己獨一無二的序號,因此你能追蹤單一產品的去向、確認真偽、並在召回時精準鎖定到件,而不是整批。代價是你必須在產線上替每一件賦予、列印並登錄一個唯一識別碼,資料量與作業複雜度都明顯上升。Serial-level traceability pushes granularity down to the individual unit. Every item carries its own unique serial number, so you can track where a single product went, verify its authenticity, and target a recall down to the unit rather than the whole batch. The price is that your line must assign, print, and record a unique identifier for every item, which raises data volume and operational complexity noticeably.
GS1 標準怎麼承載這兩種顆粒度How the GS1 standard carries both granularities
好消息是,你不需要自己發明編碼規則。GS1 體系用全球唯一的 GTIN 識別「這是什麼產品」,再用應用識別碼(Application Identifiers,AI)疊加各種屬性。批號用 AI (10) 的 Batch/Lot Number 表達;單品序號用 AI (21) 的 Serial Number 表達;有效期限、製造日期等也都有對應的 AI。物流層的棧板與外箱則常用 SSCC(序號式運送容器代碼)追蹤。The good news is you don't have to invent your own encoding scheme. The GS1 system identifies "what the product is" with a globally unique GTIN, then layers attributes on top using Application Identifiers (AIs). A batch is expressed with the Batch/Lot Number in AI (10); a per-unit serial with the Serial Number in AI (21); expiry and production dates have their own AIs too. At the logistics layer, pallets and cases are commonly tracked with the SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code).
同樣一個概念,也能用 GS1 Digital Link 表達成一段可被掃描的網址結構,讓同一個條碼或 QR 既能在收銀台結帳,也能讓消費者、稽核或召回流程透過解析器(resolver)取得對應資訊。重點是:批號和序號不是兩套互斥系統,而是同一套標準下的不同 AI 欄位——你可以同時帶 GTIN、批號與序號。The same concepts can also be expressed with GS1 Digital Link as a scannable web-address structure, so one barcode or QR can work at checkout while also letting a consumer, an auditor, or a recall process reach the right information through a resolver. The key point: lot and serial are not two mutually exclusive systems, but different AI fields under one standard — you can carry GTIN, lot, and serial together.
成本、紀律與風險:真正的取捨在哪Cost, discipline, and risk: where the trade-off really sits
升到序號級的成本不只是「多印一組碼」。它牽動產線速度、列印與賦碼設備的設定、品檢時的核對方式,以及後端要儲存與查詢的資料量。更關鍵的是資料紀律:序號級只有在「序號從產線到出貨、再到通路全程都被正確登錄」時才有價值。中間一旦斷鏈、重號或補登造假,序號帶來的精準度就形同虛設,甚至比批號級更難稽核。Moving up to serial level costs more than "printing one extra code." It affects line speed, the setup of your marking and coding equipment, how QC reconciles units, and the volume of data you must store and query on the back end. More crucial is data discipline: serial level only has value when serials are recorded correctly all the way from line to shipment to channel. The moment the chain breaks, numbers are duplicated, or records are back-filled inaccurately, the precision serials promise evaporates — and can be harder to audit than lot level.
因此判斷不該只問「我們做得到嗎」,而要問「這個產品的風險,值不值得這份紀律」。常見的驅動因素包括:So the decision isn't only "can we do it," but "does this product's risk justify that discipline." Common drivers include:
- 安全與健康風險:食品、藥品、醫材一旦出事可能危及人身,召回必須快又準。Safety and health risk: with food, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, a problem can endanger people, so recalls must be fast and precise.
- 法規要求:不同品類的主管機關(例如食品與藥品由 TFDA 等單位監理)對紀錄與追溯有不同強度的要求。Regulatory requirements: authorities differ by category (for example, food and medicines fall under bodies such as the TFDA in Taiwan), and they ask for different strengths of record-keeping and traceability.
- 單品價值與仿冒誘因:高單價或常被仿冒的商品,序號帶來的防偽與真偽驗證價值最高。Unit value and counterfeiting incentive: for high-value or frequently counterfeited goods, the anti-counterfeiting and authenticity value of serials is highest.
- 召回的「過殺」代價:如果整批報廢的損失很大,序號級的精準鎖定能省下大量本可保留的庫存。The cost of "over-killing" a recall: when scrapping a whole batch is expensive, serial-level targeting can save large amounts of otherwise-good stock.
依風險選層級:一張對照表Matching level to risk: a quick table
下表是一般性的起點,不是硬性規定。實務上請以你所屬品類的法規與客戶要求為準;很多企業會採「混合制」——以批號為基礎,對特定高風險或高價產品線再加上序號。The table below is a general starting point, not a hard rule. In practice, defer to the regulations and customer requirements for your category; many companies run a hybrid — lot level as the base, with serials added on specific high-risk or high-value lines.

挑平台時該看什麼What to look for in a platform
不論你選哪個層級,溯源系統的價值來自「資料能不能在召回那一刻被信任」。挑選傳產可用的溯源平台時,值得確認的方向包括:是否完整支援 GS1 標準與應用識別碼、能否同時容納批號與序號並隨業務成長平滑升級、能否與你現有的 ERP 和產線賦碼設備對接,以及召回演練時能否快速、清楚地畫出受影響範圍與下游對象。把這些先想清楚,比急著上最高顆粒度更重要。Whatever level you choose, a traceability system earns its keep by whether the data can be trusted at the moment of a recall. When evaluating a platform that fits a manufacturer, it's worth confirming a few directions: full support for the GS1 standard and Application Identifiers; the ability to hold both lot and serial and to scale up smoothly as your business grows; clean integration with your existing ERP and line marking equipment; and, in a recall drill, the ability to draw the affected scope and downstream recipients quickly and clearly. Getting these right matters more than rushing to the finest granularity.
